Foster parents serve children of all races and economic levels. They <br /> care for children who may have physical or motional problems. Being a foster <br /> parent means providing to children whose cwn families are trying to work out <br /> problems which cause the stress that results in the abuse and neglect of children. <br /> It means giving love and acceptance without replacing the child's natural <br /> parents. Finally foster parenting means giving understanding, guidance and <br /> physical care, on a voluntary basis, in the foster parents awn hate to children <br /> who need a temporary substitute parent. <br /> • <br /> • <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : <br /> Proclaim the month of July 1988 as Foster Parent Appreciation Month and authorize <br /> the Chair to sign the proclamation. <br /> • <br />
