G. Lunsford <br /> REFERENCE: Formal Approval - Agreements to Purchase Land <br /> It is a pleasure to recommend to the Board of Education the formal <br /> approval of agreements to purchase property for the purpose of the con- <br /> struction of an elementary school. This recommendation is be inclusive <br /> of all provisions of the agreements to purchase which have been executed <br /> with Robert and Helen Strayhorn, Wade and Barbara McDonald and the <br /> Blackwood Family. <br /> To my knowledge we have met all requirements of the Orange County <br /> Board of Commissioners in this regard, and if the Board formally authorizes <br /> the purchase of this property, we will submit this request to the Commissioners <br /> for final authorization for the release of funds to purchase the property <br /> under the terms of the agreement. <br /> In summary, land acquisition costs are as follows: <br /> Blackwood: 8.51 acres $110,630.00 <br /> Strayhorn: 20.46 acres 315,000.00 <br /> McDonald: property exchange--1.3 acres <br /> for 1.38 acres 5,000.00 <br /> $430,630.00 <br /> It is my plan to submit this formal request to the Commissioners <br /> for action at their June 21 meeting, and pending their approval, we <br /> will immediately proceed to execute-the deeds of transaction, hopefully <br /> - before the end of the fiscal year, June 30, 1988. <br /> DGL:ha <br />
