As a result of citizen and advisory board <br /> concerns, revisions to the original inal were <br /> proposed and subsequently presented <br /> hearing on February 22, 1988. A proposal was also <br /> presented to incorporate the Master Recreation & Parks <br /> Plan as the Recreation Element of the Comprehensive <br /> Plan. <br /> The proposed revisions affected only the greenways <br /> portion of the Master Recreation & Parks Plan. <br /> Proposed natural conservation areas were deleted, and <br /> active recreational trails were retained. <br /> Due to citizen opposition voiced at the February 22 <br /> public hearing and concerns that the greenways issue <br /> would adversely affect bond funding opportunities for <br /> recreation improvements, the Board of Commissioners, <br /> at its II 15 meeting, unanimously delete <br /> the greenways elmentromthe MasterRecreation & <br /> Parks Plan. <br />
