0 <br /> • <br /> BUDGET WOREESSSIONS NOTES <br /> Tuesday, June 14, 1988 <br /> • <br /> 1) The County Commissioners wish to know the amount of <br /> money that was expended for rent of space for various <br /> meetings held by County agencies during FY 87-88. <br /> 2) They wish that we explore the possibility of the uniform <br /> policy for travel per diem for the various advisory <br /> boards that work with the County government. <br /> 3) The County Manager in recruiting an engineer should pay <br /> attention to the recruitment of an older engineer with a <br /> great deal of experience, who perhaps is close to <br /> retirement. <br /> • <br /> 4) We need a report from the assessor as to why the present <br /> positions are needed that were approved for the last <br /> revaluation, and secondly, what would be his proposed <br /> date for the next revaluation. <br /> 5) We would like Planning to provide us with a small hand <br /> map showing the present land use plan. <br /> 6) We need for the Economic Development Commission; i.e. , <br /> Sylvia Price, to make a presentation at the next Board <br /> meeting regarding the preliminary study on economic <br /> development. Also, we need to pursue a closer tie <br /> between our Airport Study and that committee and the EDC <br /> and its strategic planning process. <br /> 7) We need to pursue with the Animal Control section of the <br /> Health Department on whether or not to keep the animal <br /> . licensing on or off of the tax listing. <br /> 8) Next is a note I can't quite make out. It has to do, <br /> let me say, with the cost of fees to Chapel Hill and <br /> Carrboro after the new ? <br /> 9) We need the number of septic tank inspections that were <br /> conducted during the last year by the sanitarians; also, <br /> the number of swimming pool inspections; also, what are <br /> our present projections on the revenue derived from <br /> - . <br /> these inspections; also what are the present statistics <br /> on restaurant inspections. <br /> 10) Next, we need to determine why the 4-H position in Ag <br /> • Extension was changed to a dairy position. Why was this <br /> done without our knowledge. <br /> • 11) Does the County own any property around the new Efland <br /> • . Cheeks School. <br /> • • <br /> . %- • 12) .
