Department <br /> of Transportation, Public Transportation Division, for funds <br /> to hire a transportation consultatnt for completing a Public <br /> Transportation Feasibility Study. NCDOT would fund the study <br /> up to $10,000 maximum with Orange County providing a 10% <br /> match. <br /> BACKGROUND: Several Board and Staff representatives such as County <br /> Planning, Aging, Housing and Development, Recreation, Social <br /> Sevices, C.A.T. Transportation and Manager's Office met with <br /> the NCDOT Consultant on December 8, 1987. Group consensus was <br /> tc pursue the issue of public transportation for all of Orange <br /> County. A consultant would investigate the public transpor- <br /> tation need as to how much, where at, when is it needed and by <br /> whom, as well as present options for meeting the need. <br /> Several Boards--Human Services Transportation, Housing Task <br /> Force--have gone on record supporting such a study. <br /> RECOMMENDA-T--ION(S)-: - — - <br /> To approve such an agreement and to establish an Ad Hoc <br /> Committee to work with the Consultant. <br />
