PUBLICIZE THE.,NEED FOR SUBSIDIZED RENTAL OPPORTUNITIES <br /> THROUGH ADVERTISEMENTS IN LOCAL MEDIA, EXPLAINING PROGRAMS <br /> AND CITING THE BACKLOG OF 500 FAMILIES CURRENTLY ON WAITING <br /> LISTS. INVITE CONCERNED COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS TO <br /> PARTICIPATE IN A "SECTION 8 HOUSE HUNT" TO LOCATE ELIGIBLE <br /> UNITS. CONTACT EACH LANDLORD RENTING OVER THREE UNITS WITHIN <br /> THE COUNTY TO PROVIDE INFORMATION REGARDING SUBSIDY PROGRAMS <br /> AND SOLICIT PARTICIPATION. <br /> STAFF RESPONSE <br /> A massive outreach/publicity campaign for the County's <br /> Section 8 Program has been planned for Fiscal Year 1988-89 <br /> which will be undertakened by the Housing and Community <br /> Development. This campaign will include but not be limited <br /> to: newspaper advertisements to attract new rental property <br /> owners, brochures explaining the program and informational <br /> sessions for landlords and tenants. <br />
