•
•
D
e 162 .
Orange Soil and Water Conservation District
Orange County Agricultural/Environmental Center
306 Revere Road
Hillsborough, NC 27278 Phone: (919) 732-9361, Ext. 451
April 11 , 1988
TO: Emily Crudup, ASIA, Planner II
• FROM: Gall Hughes, Conservationist
RE: Oak Crest Subdivision
• I have reviewed this site as requested and have these comments:
1. The soils on this site are Appling, Chewacla, Louisburg and
Wedowee.
Appling has moderate limitations for septic tank absorption
fields because of slow percolation. Appling also has moderate
limitations for dwellings with and without basements. Chewacla
has severe limitations for septic tank absorption fields and
dwellings because' of a seasonal high water table and flooding.
Louisburg has moderate limitations for the same uses because of
depth to bedrock.
• Wedowee has moderate limitations for septic tank absorption
fields because of slow percolation and severe limitation for
dwellings with and without basement because of slope, low
strength, and high shrink-swell.
2. The Orange County Soil Survey indicates that there is bedrock
at or near the surface that may affect development in those
areas. •
If I can be of further assistance, please call.
GMH:jw •
CONSERVATION-DEVELOPMENT-SELF-GOVERNMENT
