Community Loan Fund <br /> November 20, 2012 <br /> Agenda Abstract <br /> PURPOSE: To approve budget, grant, and capital project ordinance amendments for fiscal year <br /> 2016-17. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Department on Aging <br /> 1. The Department on Aging has received additional revenue for the following programs: <br /> • Health Promotion Activities — receipt of an additional $5,945 from the N.C. <br /> Division of Aging and Adult Services for evidence-based health promotion <br /> activities. <br /> • Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) — receipt of $4,802 from <br /> the N.C. Department of Insurance. This is a volunteer driven program that focuses <br /> on annual re-enrollment of insurance and helping seniors to better understand <br /> their benefits. <br /> • Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) (United Way Funding) — receipt of <br /> $6,859 from the Triangle United Way through the Compass Center for Women and <br /> Families for support of the federal VITA tax preparation service. These funds will <br /> be used to pay for additional personnel and supply costs. <br /> • Family Caregiver Support Program — receipt of an additional $11,825 from the <br /> N.C. Division of Aging and Adult Services for caregiver services. <br />
