The goal of the contest is to inspire exploration, celebration and appreciation of
Orange County's diverse landscapes and outdoor experiences. Photographers help
document the beauty and diversity of our natural resources and our people connecting
to their environment.
Many youth and adults submitted photos. A panel of judges selected first, second and
third place winners from the Youth and Adult divisions. In addition, there were two
Honorable Mention awards per age group since there were so many high-quality
submissions. This year's judges were photographers Laura Branan, Holden Richards
and David Schaub.
Winners received a congratulatory letter, certificate, and a small monetary award.
During the month of August, the photographs were displayed at the Orange County
Public Library and the Chapel Hill/Orange County Visitors Center. They will also be on
display at the Cedar Grove Community Center.
