Mr. Sarver <br />replied that some elderly people in Carrboro and Chapel Hill were starting to put <br />together a co-housing project but this is for people who can afford full mortgages, <br />not those with low incomes. <br />center. <br />Someone else asked if there were any group <br />home facilitation available. He said that we need to <br />get the word out to increase affordable units. <br />Ms. Wassel then asked how we are going to make sure that when we encourage <br />development, we will be able to provide services. Mr. Chestnut replied that <br />Southern Village represented a good example of services located near housing but <br />that homes in Southern Village are expensive. It is important to develop new <br />housing around an anchor store where residents would be able to shop. He said that <br />he hopes to educate developers on these topics. <br />Another participant in the discussion asked what happened to the sharer home <br />that used to exist in Chapel Hill.
