032 <br /> III. Inservice Education: <br /> A. Plan topics with appropriate staff and provide inservice <br /> education presentations. <br /> B. Provide a newsletter-type review of the literature on current <br /> therapeutics that are relevant to the Health Department. <br /> C. Plan with appropriate staff the drug information reference <br /> material to be maintained in the Health Department. <br /> D. Apprise the staff of changes to the policies and procedures of <br /> pharmacy services. <br /> IV. Clinical Services: <br /> A. Review the prescriptions and drug inventory list maintained by <br /> the mid-level practitioners, other prescribing providers and <br /> public health nurses. <br /> B. Evaluate and assist in improving the medication history <br /> documentation system. <br /> C. Serve as a source of drug information to the Health Department <br /> staff. <br /> D. Work with appropriate staff in: <br /> 1. Establishing and/or improving the system for control and <br /> use of emergency medications. <br /> 2. Evaluating and improving the patient education system <br /> regarding legitimate drugs and drugs of abuse. <br /> E. Conduct drug utilization review of Health Department patients <br /> either in conjunction with a patient care audit system or <br /> independently. <br /> F. Be available on an on-call basis to the Health Department staff <br /> to respond to pharmaceutical service needs. <br />
