2 ? 11) 1:■\ 11 If <br /> 16 <br /> basins , both of which provide drinking water for the <br /> City of Durham. <br /> The Little River TAC met on June 3 and formulated the <br /> following recommendation: <br /> The Little River TAC recommends approval of the Plan <br /> as presented with the following conditions : <br /> 1 ) Inclusion of the Orange County Speedway as a <br /> Activity Node. (Unanimous vote) <br /> 2) Inclusion of Harris Crossroads Actity Node. ( 4 in <br /> favor, 4 opposed) <br /> 3) Removal of Berry 's Grove Activity Node. (5 in <br /> favor, 3 opposed) <br /> In separate action, the TAC requested that consider- <br /> ation of implementation strategies not be limited <br /> solely to zoning. Other possibilities mentioned <br /> included programs of the Soil Conservation Service <br /> and a Watershed Protection Ordinance. <br /> The Planning Staff recommends approval of the Draft <br /> Land Use Plan for Little River as recommended by the <br /> Little River TAC with the exception of condition #1 . <br /> There is currently no activity node designation with <br /> which the Orange County Speedway will comply. <br /> Further study and a proposed Land Use Plan amendment <br /> will be needed to implement the recommendation. <br /> The Board of Commissioners is scheduled to render a <br /> decision on the Draft Plan on July 6, 1987 . <br /> Yuhasz expressed a concern that the projections for <br /> Little River Township residential growth in the five <br /> year period specified is too low. He felt it was a <br /> plan for no growth . He felt the Planning Board <br /> should concentrate on a land use plan that will <br /> realistically allow the direction of growth to Little <br /> River Township. He indicated that he felt the area <br /> designated for growth in the 1981 Land Use Plan is <br /> that area that should still be so designated. <br /> Bell stated that he felt that Little River and Cedar <br /> Grove should be addressed at the same time in terms <br /> of implementation strategy. He indicated that work <br /> is already in progress on Cedar Grove Township with <br /> the expectation of presentation at public hearing in <br /> November. The major portion of Cedar Grove Township <br /> also Iles in water supply watersheds . <br /> MOTION: Best moved that the Little River Land Use Plan Update <br /> be forwarded to the Commissioners for approval with <br /> the following conditions : <br /> - that the Harris Crossroads Activity Node not be <br />
