Local Share Certifications for Funding <br /> PURPOSE: To: <br /> • Conduct an annual public hearing on the North Carolina Community Transportation <br /> Program (CTP) grant application by Orange County Public Transportation (OPT) for <br /> FY 2018; <br /> • Approve the grant application which includes adopting a resolution authorizing the <br /> applicant to enter into an agreement with the North Carolina Department of <br /> Transportation (NCDOT); and <br /> • Authorize the County Attorney to review and complete the necessary 2017 <br /> certifications and assurances. <br /> BACKGROUND: Each year, the NCDOT Public Transportation Division accepts requests for <br /> administrative and capital needs for county-operated community transportation programs. OPT <br /> is eligible to make application for both administrative and capital funding. The current year FY <br /> 2017-approved application includes $166,765 in administrative funding and $211,188 in capital <br /> funding for replacement vehicles with total expenses equaling $377,953. <br /> The total CTP funding request for FY 2018 is $179,964 for community transportation <br /> administrative expenses and an additional $212,902 for capital expenses. This draft grant <br /> application is made for expenses totaling $392,866 and would entail a 15% local match <br /> ($26,995) for administrative expenses and a 10% local match ($21,290) for capital expenses. <br /> The total local funding of $48,285 from the County's General Fund would be included in the <br /> Manager's recommended 2017-2018 budget. <br />
