Williford Subject: special request from the Carrboro Board of Aldermen Dear Laura, Gwen, Donna, and David, Forgive us for sending this to all of you, and doubly forgive us for such short notice. At this last Tuesday's meeting, the Board of Aldermen asked that the Orange County Board of County Commissioners (as well as a number of other bodies) be invited to identify an unspecified number (i.e. BOCC gets to choose) of representatives to serve on a committee which would be reviewing the implementation of the Small Area Plan for the Northern Transition Area. The Board of Aldermen wishes to appoint this committee next Tuesday evening. The attached letter went into the mail to you today, but we realized that there would be no regular meeting (except tonight's) during which the BOCC would have an opportunity to appoint one or more members to this committee. Rather than leave it at that, we decided to at least try this method of getting this request in front of the commission at their worksession tonight. Some related agenda materials that may help the commissioners are also attached. Many thanks, on behalf of our Board, for anything you can do to facilitate the BOCC's consideration of this request.
