W o r l d A, TRIANGLE J COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS
100 Park Dree, P.C).Bo\ 12276
C l a s s Research Triangle Park,NC 27709
919 549 0551 r,x:910 549 9390
R e g E O n
Date: November 29, 1994
To: Interested Individuals,.,
From: Leigh Scott-Prater .; 1
Re: Program Objectives
During the last week I've been thinking a lot about the long-term objectives for
our HHW collection program. While I know that in the short term we want to
establish the permanent facilities and start the education program, I would like to
know more about your priorities for the longer term. I need a clearer under-
standing of those objectives now so I can be sure that my efforts are aimed in
the most appropriate direction. You can help by taking a minute to rank the fol-
lowing items in order of priority (with one being highest):
protect the environment & public health by increased capture of HHW
achieve reduced disposal costs for HHW
increase recycling or reuse of HHW
educate consumers about the proper use, storage and disposal of HHW
promote consumer use of less toxic alternative products
comply with regulations
other (please specify):
Also, I'd like to know which materials you are most concerned about capturing.
Please rank the following:
automotive fluids & batteries
paints and solvents
pesticides and herbicides
household cleaning products
fluorescent bulbs & other mercury sources
household batteries
metal and furniture polishes
aerosol cans
other (please specify):
I'd like to have your responses to this survey by December 7. Thanks!
