Triangle Region Solid Waste Planners Committee Household Hazardous Waste
October 28, 1993
7. Small Quantity Generator"Milk Run" Language
If requested by the Sponsor, LES shall develop and implement a "milk run" schedule throughout
the Sponsor's service area to service conditionally exempt and small quantity generators (C.E.G.
and S.Q.G., those individuals or entities generating 1000 kilograms or less a month). A "milk
run" program will consist of a regular schedule of waste pickups at generators' sites within the
Sponsor's service area. Generators who wish to use the "milk run" service will be required to
contact LES, to establish credit or billing arrangements satisfactory to LES, and to complete any
necessary waste analysis, paperwork or documentation prior to the scheduled "milk run". In the
event that no generators are ready for pickup, a scheduled "milk run" will be cancelled. LES
shall identify, consolidate, package and manifest all waste collected on "milk runs". C.E.G.s
and S.Q.G.s may also deliver their hazardous waste to the Sponsor's collection center during
Cooperative Commercial Services operating hours if they can obtain the appropriate insurance
and fulfill any other hazardous waste transportation requirements. All fees and costs associated
with the conditionally exempt and small quantity generators shall be charged directly to the
generator by LES at no cost to the Sponsor. The Sponsor will furnish to LES a list of all
C.E.G.s and S.Q.G.s in the Sponsor's service area, and will publicize the "milk run" program.
r
Laidlaw Environmental Services
