Triangle Region Solid Waste Planners Committee Household Hazardous Waste <br /> October 28, 1993 <br /> acceptance criteria established by interim or final treatment, storage, or disposal facilities. At <br /> no time may the Sponsor's Authorized Representative direct LES to utilize any container or <br /> other packaging supply, or package or fill any container so as to violate any hazardous material <br /> transportation requirement or the waste acceptance criteria established by interim or final <br /> treatment, storage, or disposal facilities. Prior to each collection date, the Sponsor shall discuss <br /> with LES the type and quantity of containers and other packaging supplies the Sponsor intends <br /> to supply for the collection. <br /> 3. Sponsor Personnel and Volunteers <br /> The program sponsor may elect to have non-LES personnel perform work during HHW <br /> collections. If so, the following language may be inserted into the contract: <br /> LES and the Sponsor recognize that employees of the Sponsor and volunteers recruited by the <br /> Sponsor may perform various functions during the collection event. The Sponsor shall have and <br /> maintain complete control over all of its agents, employees, volunteers and operations. The <br /> Sponsor, anyone employed by it, and its volunteers shall not be, represent, act, purport to act <br /> or be deemed to be the agent, representative, employee or servant of LES. LES shall have no <br /> responsibility or liability for the actions of Sponsor's employees, agents, volunteers or other <br /> contractors. <br /> 4. Personal Protective Equipment <br /> Laidlaw Environmental Services may be asked to provide protective clothing for the Sponsor's <br /> personnel and volunteers who handle non-hazardous waste and recyclable materials such as <br /> motor oil, paint, and auto batteries. Laidlaw wills be happy to provide equipment, but has no <br /> control over the use of such protective equipment, or the medical or physical status of those who <br /> use it. The following language may be inserted into the Agreement: <br /> LES shall offer Sponsor's employees and volunteers some or all of the following items: Tyvek <br /> coveralls, gloves, splash goggles or glasses. These items can be provided by LES as a <br /> convenience to Sponsor in order to assist Sponsor employees and volunteers in remaining clean <br /> during a collection event. LES makes no claims or warranties as to the safety or protective <br /> qualities of these items and is not responsible for the use or misuse of these items. <br /> Laidlaw Environmental Services <br /> 50 <br />
