Announcement of Healthy Carolinians <br /> 2000 Conference. <br /> PURPOSE: <br /> The purpose of this item is for the Board of Commissioners to establish <br /> an Orange County Healthy Carolinians 2000 Task Force upon the <br /> recommendation of the Orange County Board of Health. This task force <br /> will: <br /> 1. Inform local leaders about health problems that can be <br /> improved by wellness promotion and disease prevention. <br /> 2. Create an ongoing community-oriented process for priority <br /> setting and action planning. <br /> 3. Select and tailor objectives from the list recommended by the <br /> State level task force. <br /> 4 . Serve as the conduit for funding of cooperative health <br /> promotions. <br />
