To receive public comments regarding Cable TV services in <br /> the County. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Cable TV Franchises with Time. Warner Cable <br /> (Cablevision) and Cablevision Industries (CVI) will <br /> terminate on February 24, 1996. The 1992 Cable Act <br /> requires the franchising authority (Orange County) to <br /> conduct public proceedings to identify future cable- <br /> related community needs and interests and review past <br /> performance of cable operators. Comments from the <br /> public will assist in developing a Cable TV Franchise <br /> Renewal Proposal for both cable companies. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : The Manager recommends that all public comments <br /> be referred to the Cable TV Citizen Advisory <br /> Committee for development of Cable TV Franchise <br /> Renewal Proposal. <br />
