PhP: 9/-2-o/, <br /> Adopted 8/17/93 <br /> Amended 10/4/93 <br /> Draft Revision 9/15/94 <br /> HILLSBOROUGH COOPERATIVE PLANNING <br /> GOAL: IMPLEMENT THE ORANGE COUNTY-HILLSBOROUGH COOPERATIVE PLANNING <br /> AGREEMENT, INCLUDING THE PREPARATION OF A LAND USE PLAN AND <br /> IMPLEMENTING ORDINANCES FOR THE COOPERATIVE PLANNING ZONE <br /> STATUS REPORT <br /> This initiative represents,the continuation of an objective included among the <br /> Commissioners' goals for FY 1992-93. The revised Plan of Action reflects the on-going <br /> discussion between the Hillsborough and Orange County governing boards of important <br /> issues which have a bearing on completion of this goal.A small area planning initiative has <br /> been undertaken resulting from the potential annexation of the University Station project by <br /> Hillsborough. Another small..area planning project has been initiated; e.g., the I-40/Old N.C.:86 <br /> Work Group, and has been addreessed under a separate "Economic Development District" goal. <br /> Likewise, initiation of an additional project;e.g., the I-85/N.C.Highway 86 Economic <br /> Development District,has been included under the same goal statement. <br /> The Town of Hillsborough will be contacted to determine its interest in continuing the <br /> Cooperative Planning Agreement,including the preparation of a Land Use Plan for the <br /> affected.area.Orange County will initiate a small area plan for the Stoney Creek drainage <br /> basin which extends from the proposed I-40/01d N.C.86 Economic Development District <br /> eastwardly to U.S.Highway 70. • <br /> BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES <br /> This objective involves the implementation of the Orange County-Hillsborough Cooperative Planning Agreement <br /> signed by both jurisdictions in October of 1991. The objective specifically involves the preparation of a Land Use <br /> Plan and implementing ordinances for the Cooperative Planning Area. <br /> • <br /> RESOURCE REQUIREMENTS <br /> Preparation of the Cooperative Land Use Plan and implementing ordinances will involve the following commitment <br /> of staff resources: <br /> Planning Director Planner III/Comprehensive Planning Supervisor <br /> Planner II/Land Use & Environment Planner II/Transportation <br /> Planning Intern Planner III/Current Planning Supervisor <br /> Staff will compile data from time sheets concerning staff hours expended and costs associated with completion of <br /> this goal. Monthly reports will be distributed to County Manager,Agricultural Districts Advisory Board,Planning <br /> Board, and Board of Commissioners outlining monthly/cumulative staff hours and costs assigned to this project. <br />
