Public affairs are coordinated with other women's and pro- <br /> choice groups including area affiliates, NC Equity, NARAL, NOW, <br /> and religious groups. <br /> Triangle Hospice <br /> Triangle Hospice provides medical care, symptom relief, <br /> psychosocial support and spiritual care, enabling patients with a <br /> limited life expectancy to be cared for at home. Hospice care is <br /> specialized care for the dying with expertise in pal control and <br /> other symptom management. Unique to hospice care is support to <br /> family members during the dying process and during the <br /> bereavement period. <br /> Triangle Hospice coordinates services with local hospitals, <br /> nursing home, churches, physicians community service agencies and <br /> other community organizations as needed. This is done by <br /> frequent telephone contact between staffs of both <br /> agencies/institutions. There are no apparent significant gaps in <br /> service to patients or families. <br /> Triangle Radio Reading Service (TRRS) <br /> Triangle Radio Reading Service helps the blind, elderly, <br /> visually impaired, and print handicapped residents of the <br /> Triangle and surrounding counties, overcome the sense of <br /> isolation and lack of information they suffer due to their <br /> inability to read. Volunteers read a variety of newspapers, <br /> books, and magazines from a local studio. Broadcasts can be <br /> heard 20 hours a day, 7 days a week over special radio receivers <br /> provided by TRRS to its listeners. <br /> -38- <br />
