More than 20 different <br /> organizations have participated during the first year of the <br /> group's existence. <br /> Orange County Department of Social Services <br /> The Department of Social Services has a legal mandate to <br /> provide, without prejudice, specific services to the citizens of <br /> Orange County. Federal and state statutes provide the legal base <br /> for the majority of programs. These programs are designated to <br /> provide families and individuals with the support to maintain or <br /> improve their living conditions in order to sustain their own <br /> homes and communities in a safe environment. Two basic services <br /> programs provide the means through which the department <br /> accomplishes its mission.
