Other agencies include: NCCU, Chapel Hill Camera Club, Duke <br /> Institute for Learning and Retirement, Shared Learning and the <br /> United Nations Association, American Cancer Society, AARP, Self <br /> Help for Hard of Hearing Group, NC Division of Services for the <br /> Blind, and Chapel Hill Arts and Music in Progress. <br /> The Senior Tarheel Card provides ID/discount cards for <br /> persons age 60 and over. Cards are issued at all senior centers <br /> and are honored by merchants and services statewide. <br /> The Coordinating Area Transportation (CAT) program has nine <br /> participating agencies and provides services to numerous agencies <br /> and groups including JOCCA, Orange Enterprises, Department of <br /> Social Services, OPC Mental Health, Health Department, Orange <br /> County Recreation and Parks, Cooperative Extension Services, <br /> Charles House Day Care, and other agencies. <br /> The Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) currently has <br /> volunteers stationed at 77 agencies. RSVP sponsors the Volunteer <br /> Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. The Family Literacy <br /> Program efforts have been transferred to other agencies. <br /> Department Care Managers work closely with the Department of <br /> Social Services, and community organizations such as Meals on <br /> Wheels and Charles House Adult Day Care. They also work with UNC <br /> Hospitals Discharge Planners, and eight home care services <br /> agencies in Orange County. Staff refer to many other agencies <br /> and services including long term care facilities and providers. <br /> The Information and Referral Specialist (a full time staff <br /> person) maintains a database for referrals (now numbering more <br /> -21- <br />
