Coordination <br /> Cooperative Extension Services coordinates services and <br /> programs with various agencies to accomplish its mission. <br /> Workshops on estate planning, financial management, and human <br /> development, and programs on food guide pyramid and labelling are <br /> coordinated with the Department on Aging and provided at the <br /> local senior centers. Staff members serve on the Department on <br /> Aging Advisory Board, and Long Term Care Advisory Committee. <br /> The 4-H program provides joint programming with the <br /> Department of Social Services' Adolescent Parenting Task Force; <br /> co-sponsors a fishing rodeo, teen dances, and special interest <br /> programs with the Orange County Recreation and Parks Department; <br /> and works with the Community Schools program on after-school <br /> gardens and after-school 4-H clubs. 4-H has also provided after <br /> school resources for day care centers, and worked with Volunteers <br /> for Youth in the community restitution program. <br /> Orange County Department on Aging <br /> The Department on Aging provides information, services, and <br /> programs to improve the quality of life for persons age 60 and <br /> older. The Department serves as an advocate for the concerns and <br /> interests of older people. Coordination is also facilitated <br /> with other agencies, organizations, and groups to plan, develop, <br /> and extend programs and services to meet the changing or emerging <br /> needs of the elderly population. Programs include: Senior <br /> Centers, Senior Tarheel Card, Transportation, Volunteer <br /> -18- <br />
