community colleges, North State Legal Services, InterFaith <br /> Council, Orange Congregations in Mission (OCIM) , and local <br /> lending institutions. <br /> KidSCope <br /> KidSCope is an early intervention program that offers <br /> support to children who are experiencing emotional, social, <br /> behavioral, and/or developmental difficulties. This support <br /> includes working directly with the children, their families, and <br /> their child care providers in the child care setting. <br /> The program provides consultation, individual services to <br /> children, along with counseling and education to families. <br /> Coordination <br /> KidSCope provides programs with the Health Department, <br /> Department of Social Services, Schools, Day Care Services <br /> Association, OPC Mental Health, Head Start, and Orange County <br /> Preschool Interagency Council, and other related agencies. <br /> Literacy Council <br /> The Orange County Literacy Council (OCLC) provides free <br /> confidential tutors in reading, writing, and spelling to adults <br /> who are non-readers or have low literacy skills. The purpose is <br /> to increase overall literacy in Orange County. The agency's <br /> Modified Family Literacy Program (MFLP) provides tutoring for <br /> both parents and children in low literacy families, bringing them <br /> together to be partners in the learning process. <br /> -13- <br />
