Dispute Settlement Center <br /> The Dispute Settlement Center (DSC) provides mediation <br /> services to citizens as a peaceful way of resolving disputes <br /> between individuals and groups. The agency offers training, <br /> group facilitation, and conciliation services for adult and <br /> youth. <br /> Coordination <br /> Dispute Settlement works in the schools to provide mediation <br /> services to faculty, staff, and students. The agency also works <br /> with municipalities and county government in providing workshops <br /> and training. Referrals for mediation are also made for clients <br /> as well as agency staff. <br /> Juvenile and district court, OPC-Mental Health, North State <br /> Legal Services, Chapel Hill Department of Housing, Women's <br /> Center, the school systems and Orange County departments utilize <br /> the services and make or receive referrals from the Dispute <br /> Settlement Center. <br /> The Center is a United Way agency, and a member of the <br /> Association of Community Agencies (ACA) . These memberships, as <br /> well as DSC representation on a number of community task forces <br /> and committees, provide coordination and networking <br /> opportunities. <br /> Habitat for Humanity <br /> Habitat for Humanity provides decent, affordable housing for <br /> low income families living in substandard housing.
