for Battered Women are referred to CCCS for financial counseling <br /> before entering into independent living. <br /> Day Care Services Association <br /> Day Care Services Association (DCSA) advocates for day care <br /> subsidies for low and moderate income families, and promotes <br /> accessibility of quality, affordable child care for all families. <br /> A Child Care Scholarship Program is provided to help families who <br /> need assistance with the cost of child care, while the Community <br /> Shelter Program helps families residing in the Community House <br /> obtain child care and financial assistance. <br /> Coordination <br /> Day Care Services closely coordinates services with the <br /> Department of Social Services since they are the only two <br /> agencies providing funds for child care assistance. Day Care <br /> Services works with the schools and Department of Social Services <br /> to "create a uniform and continuous system of scholarship/subsidy <br /> assistance for families needing help with the cost of child <br /> care. " DCSA provides scholarship screening sessions so that <br /> eligibility and scholarship amounts are determined consistently <br /> and correctly. The agency works closely with DSS staff to ensure <br /> that they are not providing services to the same clients. <br /> Further coordination is conducted with Child Care Networks <br /> and Community House, UNC-CH, both school systems, Chapel Hill <br /> Public Library, Orange County Partnership for Young Children and <br /> other county and state agencies working with children. <br /> -7- <br />
