institutions. JOCCA places summer youth in staff positions at <br /> Child Care Networks. Hearth Foundation is currently <br /> collaborating with Child Care Networks on the development of a <br /> model family day care home. <br /> Agency representatives serve on advisory boards for the JOBS <br /> Child Care Sub-Committee, Wake Opportunities Head Start, <br /> KidSCope, and Orange County Partnership for Young Children. <br /> Communication and coordination with day care centers is <br /> facilitated through site visits. Family day care homes have an <br /> association that Child Care Networks supports. The agency also <br /> makes site visits to day care homes. Volunteers are utilized <br /> through the Volunteer Center, RSVP, and UNC to assist in service <br /> provision. <br /> Coalition for Battered Women <br /> The Orange/Durham Coalition for Battered Women provides <br /> shelter and support services for families involved in domestic <br /> violence, as well as community education to create and promote an <br /> awareness of domestic violence. The agency's primary goal is to <br /> work with the community to create a coordinated response to end <br /> violence in the home. <br /> Coordination <br /> The Coalition for Battered Women works with other agencies <br /> serving women who have been abused. IFC-Community House is the <br /> only other facility in the county providing shelter for women. <br /> The Coalition refers women to IFC-Community House and receives <br /> referrals regarding emergency shelter. <br /> -5- <br />
