Adolescents in Need <br /> The Adolescents in Need (AIN) program is provided through <br /> the joint efforts of several agencies in the community. The <br /> program is designed to help adolescents acquire the skills needed <br /> to become socially effective parents, stay in school, and develop <br /> positive family and peer relationships. <br /> The objectives of the project include the following: <br /> . drop out intervention strategies <br /> . strengthening interagency partnership in service <br /> provision to teenagers <br /> . prevention of first or repeat pregnancies among <br /> students in the targeted high risk population <br /> . employment training skills for teenagers <br /> . coordination of efforts to develop needed programs <br /> and services for adolescents <br /> . one-on-one counseling <br /> . working with the schools to identify students in <br /> need of psychological assistance <br /> Coordination <br /> To accomplish the above goals, the AIN staff works in the <br /> teen clinics operated by the Orange County Health Department. <br /> The clinic serves as a facility where students can walk in for <br /> multiple services. The Health Department provides a site for the <br /> clinic, nurse, and the lab work, while AIN provides a nurse <br /> practitioner and medical worker. The school nurse from the <br /> Health Department serves as the nurse provider in the clinic. <br /> The Health Department provides teenagers with transportation to <br /> -1- <br />
