INTRODUCTION <br /> The human services agencies in Orange County have had a long <br /> history of coordination and collaboration. While it has been <br /> known to some that this interaction has existed, there has been <br /> no formal documentation of the extent to which the public and <br /> private non-profit agencies in the county coordinate their <br /> services. <br /> This report is for the purpose of detailing the <br /> collaboration between the county's human services agencies and <br /> those private non-profit organizations that receive funding from <br /> Orange County. <br /> This report is being compiled for the purpose of documenting <br /> the extent of the service coordination between agencies in Orange <br /> County. The report examines 32 nonprofit and governmental <br /> agencies which provide human services. These range from the <br /> library to the health department. The report documents the <br /> services that they provide, and the services which the agencies <br /> coordinate to provide. <br /> Orange County, like other areas of government, is faced with <br /> the fact that there are many agencies within its area of <br /> governance. These agencies provide a variety of services. In <br /> some cases there are points of overlap in service provision, or <br /> in the clientele being served. This results in the agencies <br /> coming together to combine efforts to improve the quality of <br /> services, or to expedite the service delivery process. <br /> Coordination has become a major part of service provision.
