Robin Britt,Sr.,Secretary <br /> (919)733-2833 <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> TO: Health Directors in Health Check Outreach Project Pilot Counties <br /> FROM: Dennis Williams, DMA144.---- <br /> Tom Vitaglione, DMCH-1 <br /> DATE: August 31, 1994 <br /> SUBJECT: Reimbursement for Health Check Coordinator Services <br /> We have established a rate and installed a system for reimbursing local <br /> health departments for services provided by Health Check Coordinators in <br /> the Health Check Outreach Project counties. <br /> Health Check is a program in which all Medicaid eligible children are <br /> entitled to receive assistance in accessing medical, social, educational, <br /> and other services that contribute to their well-being. Under Medicaid <br /> regulations, activities undertaken to provide such assistance are considered <br /> medical services under targeted case management. <br /> In consultation with the Local Health Directors Association, we have <br /> established a reimbursement rate for Health Check Coordination services <br /> which as closely as possible approximates the cost of providing these <br /> services. The cost determination factors include salary, fringe, <br /> supervisory time, indirect costs and travel, for a total of $35,073 per <br /> LUU .U_uaLVl per year. This total is determined OV follows: <br /> Salary $20,693 <br /> Fringe (257..) 5,173 <br /> Supervisor Overhead (10%) 2,069 <br /> Indirect Cost (20%) 4, 138 <br /> Travel 3,000 <br /> Total Cost Per Position/Year $35,073 <br /> The salary is the averaged mid-points of Office Assistant III (Grade 57, <br /> $19,859) and Office Assistant IV (Grade 59, $21,527) . <br />
