Pedersen <br /> Superintendent <br /> RE: Resolution Requesting County Commissioners to Provide Funds <br /> to Construct New Elementary School <br /> DATE: September 22, 1994 <br /> The County Manager's Office has requested that the Board of Education <br /> formally pass a resolution requesting that the County Commissioners provide <br /> adequate funding to construct a new elementary school. This resolution is <br /> required as one of the steps which must be followed to secure financing. The <br /> wording contained in the resolution was reviewed by the County Manager's <br /> office and complies with the legal requirements. <br /> RESOLUTION: <br /> Resolution requesting the Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange to <br /> provide for adequate funding to construct a new elementary school in the <br /> Chapel HiII-Carrboro City School System. <br /> Be it, therefore, resolved by the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Board of <br /> Education: <br /> Section 1: The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Board of Education has <br /> determined and found as fact that adequate school facilities are not now <br /> available in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City School System to comply with <br /> requirements of Section 2, Article IX of the constitution of North Carolina <br /> for the maintenance of schools, ten months in every year and that it is <br /> necessary, in order to maintain such ten months' school term as required <br /> by said Section 2 of Article IX of the constitution, to provide adequate <br /> school facilities in said unit by erecting an additional elementary school, <br /> furnishing and equipping thereof, and developing such land, the <br /> estimated cost of which is $10,646,915. <br />
