funding strategy <br /> NEED. . . this need was identified in 1990 by a Tong. range planning <br /> committee . It needed to open this year but it was not included in <br /> earlier bond package. We have 5U() elementary school students <br /> more than we can house in our permanent facility , We have 19 <br /> temporary trailers . We will be 800 over in 199 when this school <br /> openS . The Kindergarten number was lowered by the state this year . <br /> That added 3 K classes . <br /> 99 , 000 square feet . . . near to the New Hope size . The flexibility <br /> to organize classes and the hands on approach and the need for <br /> support areas , We believe that we need to look at multi-track year <br /> roun schools . <br /> COST— The cost is based. on ? per square foot . jThat figure is <br /> less comfortable this year as reports are coming in from other <br /> schools . The school system is going to be paying the debt service <br /> and principal on this school , If the contingency does not need to <br /> be expened it would be in their interest to do that . <br /> FUNDING The school is not being financed through bonds . Property <br /> taxes were increased to pay the debt on those bonds . The impact <br /> fee is being used to build these facilities . This is a small piece <br /> of the payment .
