Land Use Plan/Farmland Preservation (Comprehensive <br /> Planning) <br /> COMMENTS <br /> Peter Kramer reported that a bill introduced by Representative <br /> Anne Barnes is for a plan to protect the rural areas. The bill passed <br /> in the house and is pending in the senate. It is important to <br /> recognize that agriculture is on the decline in Orange County. <br /> 13. Concept of What County Should be Like 20-50 Years from Now and <br /> Beyond (Comprehensive Planning) includes a statement of goals for <br /> county development beyond the time frame of the current land use plan. <br /> Also, includes a statement of policies and actions which would allow <br /> growth as the county can provide services and which would permit <br /> growth consistent with citizen desires to preserve the quality of <br /> life. <br /> COMMENTS <br /> There is a ; need to determine the amount of growth desired for <br /> Orange County. <br /> PRIORITIES <br /> Chair Willhpit suggested and it was the consensus of the Board <br /> that the projects for the next six months in priority order should be <br /> first #7, second! #6, third #1 and fourth #11. He suggested the staff <br /> prepare a flow chart showing the four priorities and other priorities <br /> as determined by the Planning Board and Staff. <br /> COMPENSATION FOR THE PLANNING BOARD MEMBERS <br /> Compensation; for the Planning Board members was discussed but no <br /> decision was madh. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> With no further items for consideration, Chair Willhoit adjourned <br /> the meeting.
