ProductiIity improvements made during the current budget"year include: :- _ _ <br /> 1)•-Conducting a site planning workshop taught by the instructor for same <br /> - •at-the Department of City and Regional Planning at U•NC-CH. All planners <br /> -' - - and a•osion control staff attended in order to improve their skills in <br /> revieAng/approvi•nw'site plans. - <br /> •. =2) identified Division Heads for Planning--sect'i•o'hs and gave them clear - <br /> . directives on duties and responsibilities in terms of supervising <br /> employees working for them. Division Heads responded well, correcting <br /> defi9encies where possible, establishing work schedules and taking <br /> • disciplinary actions as necessary.. • <br /> 3) Removed responsibility of balancing daily receipts from Planning Technician <br /> and gave to Administrative Secretary V. This enabled- Planning Technic.ia <br /> to hare some more time •each.day to address workload demands. . <br /> 4) Developed checklist for m <br /> •r'drafting recommendations to Planning Board ' <br /> ' regarding •Planned .Developments. This enabled staff to address all issue- <br /> as identified in ordinance provisions during the review process and to <br /> • i dent"fy .we' knesses in each request: . <br /> S') Hired Planning Technician responsible for drafting services which enab•l.d. - <br /> Erosion Control Inspector with previously "split" duties to focus full •ime <br /> on erosion control activities.
