UU16;.' <br /> NORTH CAROLINA <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> WHEREAS G.S. Section 153A-8I authorizes Orange County to adopt <br /> the county-manager plan for the administration of Orange County government; <br /> and - - <br /> WHEREAS Orange County has adopted and for some time now has <br /> functioned under the county-manager plan and has appointed from time-to- <br /> time a county manager to serve at its pleasure as authorized by G.S, Section <br /> 153A-81(1); and <br /> WHEREAS the board of commissioners desires to ratify its decision <br /> to administer Orange County pursuant to the county-manager plan; <br /> IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED THAT: <br /> 1. Orange County ratifies and in all other respects confirms its <br /> election of the county-manager plan for the administration of all departments <br /> of county government under the general control of the Board of <br /> Commissioners. <br /> 2, The Orange County Manager is hereby empowered to appoint, <br /> without the prior approval of the Board of Commissioners, and suspend, or <br /> remove all county officers, employees, and agents except those who are <br /> elected by the people or whose appointment is otherwise provided for by law. <br /> The manager shall make appointments, suspensions, and removals in accordance <br /> with the Orange County Personnel Policy. The manager shall do all other <br /> things required of him by law and necessary for the administration of Orange <br /> County Governeinnt. <br /> 3, The following offices shall be filled by appointment as provided <br /> • <br />
