While they will result in considerable <br /> cost savings, they will not, in the opinion of the Social Services <br /> Director, result in reduced workload for the AFDC unit (note underlined <br /> areas of attachment). <br /> Personnel did a study of the position and found that: <br /> 1. More work is being accomplished under the position (30 new <br /> applications per month) than the State's output standard prescribes <br /> (16 to 20 per month). <br /> 2. Work done under the other 4 eligibility positions has increased due <br /> ` to the higher ve rifi ca ti on standards instituted by the Reagan <br /> Administratibn (from 30 to 170 a month). This means the work cannot <br /> be shifted. <br /> Impnct' Facilitate an adequate level of staffing for the verification to <br /> Impact: <br /> (1) lessen the risk of erro,s whi h could result i n paybacks, and <br /> (2) insure work accomplishment within the court prescribed time for <br /> processing. <br /> . -- <br /> Reoot-ruoridation(s): Authorize the position to continue rather than be frozen <br /> at the end of December. <br />
