The Board of Commissioners must select the means of pro- <br /> viding the protection. The Statutes (NC G. S. 69-25.5) provide <br /> several alternative methods for furnishing such, including: <br /> l. ' contracting with an incorporated city or town; <br /> 2, By contracting with an incorporated non-profit volunteer or community <br /> fire department; • <br /> -- 3. By establishing a fire department within the district; or, <br /> 4. By using a combination of the above. <br /> It has been suggested that a decision be reached by appointing trustees <br /> who would develop a budget and recommend a service provider.
