Bobby Baker <br /> 9 pages <br /> shopemuvb»sc: 929-8109 <br /> PURPOSE: To consider executing procedural steps necessary for Caldwell and Cedar <br /> Grove Fire Districts to apply for a revised insurance rating from the <br /> North Carolina Fire Insurance Rating Bureau. <br /> NEED: Both departments may be qualified for an improved rate. The Bureau <br /> and County requirements for making application involve three things <br /> to be in place prior to the Bureau's inspection and decision' <br /> 1. Contracts between a department and the County whereby the former <br /> agrees to provide adequate fire protection in return for the receipt <br /> of a fire district tax from the County. <br /> 2' Fire District and boundary description approved and adopted by <br /> the Board of Commissioners, <br /> 3. Inspection by the Fire Commission certifying that minimum standards <br /> (as specified in March 20, 1975 Minutes) are being met (done <br /> November 6, 1981)' <br /> In the case of Caldwell all except number two have been met. For Cedar <br /> Grove, action is needed on one and two, The necessary documents are <br /> attached. <br /> IMPACT: <br /> Approval could result in a lowering of fire insurance premiums for citizens <br /> of the two areas. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> l, Approve the contract for service with Cedar Grove Volunteer Fire <br /> Department, Inc' <br /> 2. Approve and adopt the maps and boundary descriptions for Cedar Grove <br /> and Caldwell fire districts as shown. <br />
