Cameron Street
Hillsborough, North Carolina 27278
Dear Sirs:
I am writing concerning the 1981 property tax assessment, I
received my tax bill September 9th and with it the assessment of my
house. This is the first notification I have received as to the
value of my house and property. I called the Tax Commissioner several
months ago because I had not received the assessment and I was con-
cerned of the expiration date for appealing the evaluation of my
property if necessary. I was told not to worry that the processing
- of evaluations of new homes had not been done and I was assured I would
receive it. I gave the woman to whom I spoke my new address to assure
no delays would occur due to mailing.
The evaluation of my tax bill is almost ten thousand dollars more than
the contract price of the house and property (construction completed
December 5, 1980) and the value at which the property was appraised
at closing time. I would therefore like to appeal the evaluation of
my house and property at this late date due to the fact that the tax
office failed to provide me with the assessment in a timely manner
despite my notification to them that I had not received it.
Your attention to this matter is greatly appreciated.
Sincerel ,
/' %
14 C-V,260:41
Stephen R.
