<br /> I hereby formally request a hearing to appeal my 1981 property taxes.
<br /> The notice of valuation I received May 5, 1981 was considerably differ-
<br /> ent from the Tax Notice I received the first week in September. After
<br /> speaking with one of the staff in the Tax Supervisor's Office about
<br /> the discrepancy, my wife and I were advised to request a hearing for
<br /> review(of the valuation) by the County Commissioners.
<br /> Mr. Wesley Bradford at the Tax Supervisor's Office informed us that
<br /> the difference between the two property valuations was due to a clerical
<br /> error made on the May 5, 1981 valuation notice, and that the September
<br /> -notice was the correct assessment. However, we feel that the Tax .: - —
<br /> Notice is too excessive for our property and we would like to have a
<br /> review of the valuation. Mr. Bradford informed us that the Board of
<br /> Equalization and Review adjourned prior to the issue of the September
<br /> Tax Notice. Since we obviously had no means for appeal through the
<br /> Tax Office for ;this new valuation, our only available means of review
<br /> at this time is with the County Commissioners.
<br /> Please advise us of the possibility of such a review. We believe that
<br /> we can adequately demonstrate why our property is overvalued. Thank you
<br /> for your prompt assistance in this matter.
