Project Work Plan <br /> A, Needs data, Data on human services needs are to be compiled <br /> through the following means: <br /> l. Conduct of an Orange County social area analyses of population <br /> characteristics relevant to human services needs based on 1980 <br /> census data' <br /> 2. Collection of analysis and review of existing studies of Orange <br /> County residents' human services needs. <br /> 3. Other data sources including N. C. Department of Health county <br /> mortality and morbidity data, population change projections, etc. <br /> 4. All data to be summarized and integrated for various population <br /> age groups including: 0-6, 7-12, 12-18, 19-25, mature adults <br /> 26-60, 60+. Attention will be paid to the socio-economic <br /> characteristics and geographic distribution and special concerns <br /> of each age group including race and sex where relevant. <br /> B. Services data. <br /> 1 . A protocol for review of agency mandates, programs, county <br /> populations served, and service plans for the next year will <br /> be developed, <br /> 2. Agencies will be interviewed to collect the services data, <br /> where data is not already available from other public documents. <br /> 3. Agency services data will be analyzed with respect to services <br /> offered for each age group. <br /> 4. When feasible, non-traditional or informal helping networks <br /> will also be included in the services data analysis. <br /> C. Community involvement and data analysis phase. <br /> l' Committees of 15 persons will be recommended by the HSAC and <br /> appointed by the County Commissioners to analyze and interpret <br /> the needs and services data to the community. Where feasible <br /> the groups will contain representatives of the population being <br /> served, service providers and community leaders. A total of <br /> six committees will be appointed, one for each of the age groups <br /> previously identified. <br />
