h. The value of coupon allotments for the purchase of food pursuant to <br /> the Food Stamp Act of 1964 which is in excess of the amount actually <br /> charged the eligible household. <br /> i. Payments received pursuant to participation in the following volunteer <br /> • <br /> programs under the ACTION Agency: <br /> 1) National Volunteer Antipoverty Programs which include VISTA, <br /> Service Learning Programs and Special Volunteer Programs. <br /> 2) National Older American Volunteer Programs for persons aged 60 and <br /> over which include Retired Senior Volunteer Programs, Foster <br /> Grandparent Program, Older American Community Services Program, <br /> and National Volunteer Program to assist Small Business Experience, <br /> Service Corps of Retired Executive (SCORE) and Active Corps of <br /> Executives (ACE) . <br /> 9. DEDUCTIONS <br /> a. Unusual Medical Expenses in excess of 3% of total family income, are <br /> those which are anticipated to be paid during the twelve-month period <br /> for which Annual Income is computed, and which are not covered by <br /> insurance. Premiums for such insurance may be included as medical <br /> expenses when paid by the family member. <br /> b. Child care for minors under the age of 13 or care for a disabled/ <br /> handicapped family member, when necessary to enable a family member <br /> to be gainfully employed, can be deducted. The deduction cannot <br /> exceed the amount of income from such employment. <br /> c. An amount of $300.00 per minor will be deducted from Total Family <br /> Income. <br /> d. An amount of $300.00 for each full-time student will be deducted from <br /> Total Family Income. <br /> 10. ASSETS. Assets means the value of equity in real property, savings, <br /> stocks, bonds, and other forms of capital investment. The value of <br /> furniture and automobiles are excluded. Any income producing assets will <br /> be included in total family income. <br /> 11. MISREPRESENTATION OF FACTS. If at any time the investigation reveals the <br /> tenant misrepresented facts which caused him or her to be classed as <br /> eligible when in fact he or she was ineligible, the Certificate of Family <br /> Participation shall be cancelled. If such misrepresentation resulted in <br /> payment of a lower rent than should have been paid, he or she will be <br /> required to pay the difference to the PHA, and in justificable cases, the <br /> PHA may take such action as it deems advisable. <br /> 12. EVICTIONS. An Owner shall not evict any Family unless the Owner complies <br /> with the requirements of local law and of this policy. The Owner shall <br /> give the family a written notice of the proposed eviction, stating the <br /> grounds and advising the Family that it has 10 days within which to respond <br /> to the Owner. The Owner must obtain the PHA's authorization for an eviction; <br /> accordingly, notice shall also state that the Family may, within the same <br /> period, present its objections to the PHA in writing or in person. <br />
