K <br /> 14. ANNUAL INCOME. Income from all sources anticipated to be received for <br /> the 12-month period following the date of determination of income by <br /> the Family head (even if temporarily absent) and each additional member <br /> of the Family household who is not a minor. <br /> 15. INCOME FOR ELICIBILITY. The anticipated total annual income of a family <br /> computed in accordance with whether or not a Family is a lower-income <br /> Family or a Very Low-Income Family (except where a family has Net Family <br /> Assets in excess of $5,000, income shall include the actual amount of <br /> income, if any, derived from all of the Net Family Assets or 10% of the <br /> value of all such assets, whichever is greater) . <br /> 16. UNUSUAL EXPENSES. Amounts paid by the Family for the care of Minors <br /> under 13 years of age or for the care of disabled or handicapped Family <br /> household members, but only where such care is necessary to enable a <br /> Family member to be gainfully employed, and the amount allowable as <br /> "Unusual Expenses" shall not exceed the amount of income from such <br /> employment. <br /> 17. GROSS FAMILY CONTRIBUTION. The portion of the gross rent payable by an <br /> eligible family. <br /> 18. ALLOWANCES. $300 for each Minor; Medical expenses which exceed 3 percent <br /> of the Annual Income and Unusual Expenses. <br /> 19. FAIR MARKET RENT. The rent, including utilities (except telephone) , <br /> ranges, refrigerators, and all maintenance, management, and other <br /> services, which, as determined at least annually by HUD, would be re- <br /> . <br /> quired to be paid in order to obtain privately owned, existing, decent, <br /> safe, and sanitary rental housing of modest (non-luxury) nature with <br /> suitable amenities. <br /> 20. GROSS RENT. The Contract Rent plus any Allowances for Utilities and <br /> Other Services <br /> 21. CONTRACT RENT. The rent payable to the Owner under his Contract <br /> including the portion of the rent payable by the Family. <br /> 22. ALLOWANCE FOR UTILITIES. An amount determined by the PHA as an <br /> allowance for the cost of utilities (except telephone) and charges <br /> for other services payable directly by the Family. Where the Family <br /> pays directly for one or more utilities or services, the amount of <br /> the Allowance is deducted from the Gross Rent in determining the <br /> Contract Rent and is included in the Gross Family Contribution. <br /> 23. UTILITIES. Includes water, electricity, gas, other heating, refrig- <br /> eration and cooking fuels, trash collection and sewerage services. <br /> Telephone service is not included as a utility. (NOTE: Trash collec- <br /> tion for Rent purposes only includes both trash and garbage collection). <br />
