Hunt, Governor of Norzn ceroiina, has designated <br /> September 14 - 18 "Clean Up Litter Week" on North Carolina Highways; <br /> and, <br /> WHEREAS, The Orange County Board of Commissioners recognizes the benefits derived <br /> to the County when the highways and streets in the County are kept free <br /> of litter; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners recognizes the negative impact on visitors <br /> and citizens when litter is permitted to accumulate; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Commissioners wishes to encourage and endorse <br /> the concept of "Clean Up Litter Week;" and, <br /> THEREFORE, asks the Citizens of Orange County, in cooperation with the Orange <br /> County Board of Commissioners, the Homemakers' Extension Clubs of Orange <br /> County and the Governor of North Carolina, to set aside the week of <br /> September 14 - 18, as CLEAN UP LITTER WEEK IN ORANGE COUNTY. <br /> NOW, BE IT THEREFORE PROCLAIMED, <br /> THAT THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS DOES HEREBY <br /> DESIGNATE SEPTEMBER 14 - 18 rtrAN UP LITTER WEEK IN ORANGE COUNTY <br /> This., the . --- day of September, 1981. <br /> ANNE BARNES, CHAIR <br /> Orange County Board of Commissioners <br />
