4 4 6
TOWN OF CARRBORO
NORTH CAROUNA PLANNING DEPARTMENT
. c'
July 17` 1981
Mr. Eddie Kirk, Planner
Orange County Planning Department
Hillsborough, NC 27278
RE: Gary and Gail Barker Property
Tax Map 120' Part of Lot 8C
Dear Eddie:
We have reviewed the plat for the Barker property on Damascus Church Road
and recommend that the subdivision request be denied.
_
As you are aware, Carrboro has recently rezoned property near University
Lake to "Watershed". The Watershed zone is an attempt to protect the water
supply at University Lake, Subdividing land in the Watershed will require
5-acre minimum lot sizes. The subject property is very near our Watershed
and will drain into Price Creek which connects to University Lake. We
therefore, do not recommend approval.
If I can be of further a»s/stance, do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Ann L. English
Interim Planning Director
tp
, 0 BOX 37 WEST MAIN STREET CAnRoopp.NORTH CAROLINA 27510
AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
