362
MUTUAL. AID AGREEMENT
Recognizing the existing and ever present possibility of the
occurrence of disasters of significant size and destructiveness, and
desiring to foster the complete and efficient use of all of Orange
County's resources during times of disaster, We, the officers of our
several independent agencies and subdivisions agree with and recognize
the responsibility and authority of the County Commissioners of Orange
County through the Office of Emergency Management of Orange County to
coordinate to the maximum extent possible all of the emergency resources
available during disaster or potential disaster situations. We therefore
agree to cooperate with this effort to manage disaster situations by
making the resources of our agencies available to the extent feasible,
so as not to interfere with the commitments of the agency, to the
Office of Emergency Management during times of disaster. We also agree
to participate in planning and training exercises aimed at making the
coordination of resources during times of disaster as effective as
possible.
We understand that this agreement will not relieve any agency of
its authority, nor will it adversely interfere with the execution of
any agency's responsibilities.
The execution of this agreement by the County and these agencies
will not give rise to any liability or responsibility for failure or
delay on the part of any agency in responding to any request for
assistance,
No charge shall be made to any party entering into this agreement
for services rendered by one of the parties for the benefit of the other
under the provisions of the same.
