Horner, Director of Revenue
DATE: July 2, 1981
REF. : Delinquent Tax Releases
The Tax Collector recommends the unpaid taxes shown
on the attached list be released. The tax office has
made a diligent search for these taxpayers or their, -
property. Some of the methods used in this search
were the Chapel Hill, Durham, Mebane and Hillsborough
telephone books; Chapel Hill and Durham City Directories;
current list of employees from the University of North
Carolina and North Carolina Memorial Hospital; previous
employers and the Student Directory from the University
of North Carolina.
Those names on this list are unknown to me and I have
used all reasonable methods I know to locate them.
Your favorable action in releasing these accounts will
be greatly appreciated and allow our records to be cleared
of many worthless accounts, enabling our staff to devote
more time to more productive accounts.
The authority to release these accounts is granted to you
in Chapter 105, Section 364, of our General Statutes.
Attachments :
