M. Gattis, County Manager
FROM: Orange County Planning Department
DATE: June 22, 1981
RE: Planning Board recommendation on Lots 7 & 8 Freeland Hills Subdivision
Case
This case was referred to the Planning Board for their consideration
at the June 15, 1981 meeting of the Planning Board.
The Planning Board recommends: .
includina Holly Circle be brought up to "Class C" standards.
Assert: Planning Board Minutes June 15, 1981
Discussion ensued on the Freeland Hills minor subdivision. Polatty described its
location. Wilson asked why the location was not noted on the description. Polatty
noted that the request was for division of a single lot into two lots, but that the
status of road #1839 was unclear. The road which was constructed on 1969 was to
be improved to State standards. However, the developer failed to do a few things
which would achieve this. The road, therefore, is a public, non—state maintained
road, dedicated to the public, platted, accepted, but not maintained. Crawford
asked, what current policy was regarding such roads. Polatty responded that the
Planning Board had recommended that such roads by brought up to private road standards
while recognizing such roads as public; but that the Commissioners have not yet acted
on the policy. Staff recommended that the road in question be improved to Class C
standards. Cannity clarified that this would apply to Alexander Drive and Holly Circl
