Department of Transportation <br /> (NCDOT) to determine the extent of the problem and solutions <br /> for same. <br /> On November 20, 1987, Mr. Kirk responded, indicating that <br /> there was a sight distance problem and the solution was <br /> relocation of Dawson Road intersection 175 feet to the east. <br /> Mr. Mills indicated he would determine if NCDOT could obtain <br /> the necessary right-of-way. <br /> Insofar as funding is concerned, the estimated cost is <br /> $15, 000-$20,000. The intersection is a prime location for <br /> funding under the Unpaved Road Improvements Fund or the <br /> Minor Safety Fund. Mr. Mills indicated that a request could <br /> be made to NCDOT, asking that that the project be scheduled <br /> in the 1988-89 NCDOT budget and funded using one of the two <br /> sources. The project could then be carried out, provided the <br /> necessary right-of-way can be obtained. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: The Administration recommends that the Chair be authorized <br />
